ABOUT THE Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
Dietetics is the scientific study of the relationship between food and health. Dietitians help people improve their health by applying the principles of nutrition and food science. Patients receive care and counselling from dieticians, nutritionists, and nutrition and dietetic technologists who work together to deliver such care. It assists individuals in developing positive links between maintaining a healthy weight and their overall health.
The Diploma Program is a complete set that gives the learner chances to learn about nutrition and public health. It also gives people the chance to learn how to share information about nutrition and health with the community. The goal of the Program is to give students more knowledge about nutrition and public health, spread information about communication concepts and how they can be used in nutrition and health education, and teach people how to be nutrition and health educators in the community. Learners with a basic 10+2 degree and an interest in helping their communities will find the diploma very useful.
SYLLABUS
Throughout the course, the students are provided with following projects
- Education in the fields of biochemistry and the biological sciences.
- The significance of cooking, as well as the influence that heat has on food.
- Uses of flesh, vegetable & dairy product with their composition with nutritive value.
- A wide variety of cooking techniques, thickening agents, and binding components.
- Methods of cooking such as boiling, steaming, roasting, baking, and grilling, as well as a combination of these, along with the underlying principles and practices of each process.
- Education in the fields of biochemistry and the biological sciences.
- Milk and goods made from milk, using a variety of distinct types of milk.
- Preparation of menus for an industrial canteen, a hospital canteen, a café, a snack bar, and a residential hostel.
- Laws governing food service establishments, legal issues
- Hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in places that serve food
- The basics of nucleic acids and nitrogenous bases Nucleosides nucleotides How DNA and RNA are made.
- Vitamins—Chemistry and metabolic significance of fat-soluble vitamins.
- The significance of fruits and vegetables in the human diet, as well as their range.
