ABOUT THE B.Des. (Honors) (Interior Design)
The B.Des. (Honors) (Interior Design) program is a 4-year integrated undergraduate degree that develops students into professional interior designers and spatial thinkers. The program builds design capability through advanced studio practice, material exploration, spatial planning, and critical design inquiry, enabling students to create functional, aesthetic, and human-centred interior environments. Students work in dedicated design studios, model-making labs, and digital visualization suites while engaging in live projects, site visits, and industry-led workshops. The program follows a 160-credit Honours pathway for advanced design specialization and professional readiness. The curriculum includes –

The B.Des. (Honors) (Interior Design) program at AAFT follows a comprehensive assessment system to evaluate students’ creative, technical, and professional competencies throughout the course. Students are assessed through design portfolios, concept boards, mood boards, and sketches that demonstrate conceptualisation and execution abilities. The B.Des. (Honors) follows a studio-based model blending design foundations with advanced spatial planning and critical inquiry. Students work in design studios and model-making labs, on live projects and site visits, building industry-ready portfolios.
It is a 4-year, eight-semester Honors degree carrying 160 credits. The curriculum builds from basic design and materials to advanced space design, an internship, research methodology, project management, and a final dissertation.
The B.Des. (Honors) is a 4-year, 160-credit degree with advanced studio practice, research, and a dissertation. The B.Sc. is a 3-year, 128-credit degree, with an optional 4-year Honors pathway of 168 credits for deeper specialisation.
Graduates can work as interior designers, spatial designers, 3D visualisers, furniture designers, lighting designers, and site supervisors across design studios, real estate, retail, hospitality, and corporate sectors, or start freelance practice. The Honors degree also supports postgraduate study.
Students get dedicated design studios, model-making labs, digital visualisation suites, iMac and Windows systems with industry software, and digital fabrication tools including 3D printers for prototyping. These support material exploration, model-making, and portfolio development.
