B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication

The B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication programme teaches you about both journalism and the media. You’ll explore modern theory on the subject as well as learn about best practices. Throughout the course, the students are provided with following projects

Semester 1

  • Develop confidence and reduce stage fear from the minds. 
  • Introduction to the print media industry.
  • Introduction to the concepts related to communication theories.
  • Demonstrate essential skills required for effective written and oral communication.
  • Understanding of E-Services and Cyber Security.

Semester 2

  • Know the world of still photography, camera and equip them with fundamental technicalities of handling equipment in the creative manner.
  • Learn to write scripts for Radio Journalism, Radio Advertisements and Radio Entertainment.  
  • Develop skills to produce various radio programmes.
  • Introduction to the concept of advertising strategies, understanding the brand importance, positioning, planning, and structure of advertising agencies.
  • Polishing the communication skills and navigate the communication acumen of PR skills to build communication strategy to escalate corporate image and build an influential PR strategy planner to deal with client and media.
  •  Dealing with different news stories by doing field reporting.

Semester 3

  • Understanding of creative arts, lighting techniques and create miracles in the field of still photography and Videography.
  • Know the technicalities of Pre Production, Production and Post-Production in the field of Television.
  • Learn the art and skills for Writing, Producing and Directing for TV.
  • Explore the arena of social and development sector and realize the scope of communication in developing and cultivating healthy culture in the community.
  • Develop the concept of advertising strategies, understanding the brand importance, positioning, planning, and structure of advertising agencies and to understand the concept of market research and planning.

Semester 4

  • Understanding of Linear and Non-linear video editing process.
  • Understanding of visual tools of corporate communication and clear the concept that how these tools are applied in establishing brand image to foster sales growth and increase profit.
  • Understanding that how cinema projects the socio-political and cultural identity of a country in an entertaining and effective manner.
  • Explore the arena of social and development sector and realize the scope of communication in developing and cultivating healthy culture in the community.

Semester 5

  • Use and construct sentences out of the box by exploiting vocabulary and proverbs to add new and creativity in their structuring.
